I came across a real interesting quote today seeing how the weather in K-Town is to die for…

.

.

.

“Don’t knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn’t start a conversation if it didn’t change once in a while.”

.

.

.

so simple yet so true….

Today is a proud day for all Kuwaitis…

The Parliament have successfully  removed the diplomatic immunity from the following MPs:

(Long breath)

  • Mohammad Hayef
  • Mubarak Al Wa’alan
  • Sa’adoon Hamad
  • Hussain Mazyad
  • Shoaib Al Mowaizry
  • Sa’ad Al Khanfoor
  • Mubarak Al Khurainej

and

  • Ali Al Diqbasy

The reason for this long overdue action is to finally implement the law that forbids organizing primaries in Kuwait.

For more information please check out Alaan’s coverage.

Now that’s more like it! :)

Update:

Maybe that’s the reason the Minister of Interior didn’t do anything to stop this year’s primaries this year… He was probably too busy getting the information and evidence he wanted to indict them.

Jaber Al Khaled 1-0 Primary Candidates :)

The market opened over an hour ago and total volume is only 17.5 million KD. To really know what this means just keep in mind that in other days we get that volume in maybe the first 15 minutes.

When the PC that shows the latest market transactions goes to ’sleep’ then things are really boring. When my PC screen turned black I woke up from my stupor and forced myself to write this post.

I am now hoping for any something major (anything to be honest) that would jump-start the market. Until then I should just count the minutes till my weekend starts.

5 hours left…

This post is really meaningless… :)

I remember asking my Finance Professor a simple question: “What moves the prices of stocks?”

His answer was equally simple: “Supply and Demand.” He smiled and then walked away.

Most of us already know the basics of supply and demand but at the time I found it hard to see such abstract concepts at work in practical life. When I started to follow the stock market a few years ago as a broker I then began to realize what my Professor meant.

The wait is almost over,  the long awaited Windows 7 is almost ready for release, personally ive been hearing and reading alot of good things about the new Windows, supposedly a big step up from the current flop Windows Vista, the Windows 7 claims to be much faster, reliable, and user friendly than its predecessor and competitors plus it has multi touch support! AFB has been testing the BETA version quite sometime now and hopefully he’ll post a review, but for now if you want to place a pre-order you can go to amazon’s dedicated Windows 7 section so you can be the first to get your hands on the new OS.

A world wide super star just died and many hearts have been broken, he died at the age of 50, just before his tour in London. Michael Jackson was a legend, his thriller album is the most album sold ever, and he is known all around the world, our maid from indonesia came to us today asking “is the guy that died the famous American singer that looked like a girl?”. Everyone has been touched by his death. I personally am a huge fan of this miracle artists since I was 10.

a couple of days ago, a friend of mine asked me if i knew about this new energy drink if i tried it and so on. so im like pink drink???? what pink drink :s anyways he sacrificed his last can for me… at first its called pink drink and the can is pink oo written pink in a big font soo id prefer holding a glass instead of the can, but the drink is also pink ;p but to my surprise it tastes really good.. and it doesnt have this after taste and smell like red bull that lets everyone know u drank red bull… its like cherry 7up or maybe its just me… in a months time inshalla it will be offered in most restaurants and stores… price wise its somewhere near red bull (less then 500 fils)

what really makes this different is that alot of ppl say dont drink red bull and all that cuz its not healthy, but surprisingly pink drink is kinda somewhat healthy,,, got some vitamins and ginseng..

Are veils Islamic?
icon1 Abdulmohsen | icon2 Misc. | icon4 06 25th, 2009| icon3 17 Comments »

Some of you have already heard of Sarkozy’s announcement a few days ago that burqas and veils are not welcome in France. He reasoned that these burqas and veils are degrading to women. Most readers would be furious with such an announcement but it can also be a cause for debate.

An uproar was caused when the headscarf ban was first imposed in France a few years ago. People said that the government should not ban ladies from following their religion. Personally, I think that if headscarves were voluntarily worn by ladies for pious reasons then no one can force them from taking it off. The same thing obviously applies to burqas and the like.

I find it interesting, however, that when women pray they do not cover their faces. Another fact is that in the Holy Ka’aba women also do not cover their faces.  We all know that in Islam, women should cover their whole body except for their face, hands and feet. I wonder how would veils and burqas fit into this? Is it a traditional symbol or an Islamic one?

Please pardon my ignorance but what you guys think? Can someone enlighten us on this subject?
