Last weekend I got the chance to experience driving a Caterham. Myself and three of my friends went to the Bahrain International Circuit and had an absolute blast!!!! I’ve been meaning to go for a long time and at last I finally got the chance. When we first arrived there we were greeted by the driving track personnel and they gave us a quick brief about the rules & regulations.

I was looking for a Harley Davidson, a big bike, one that I can cross borders with and still be comfortable so I opted for the Harley Davidson Street Glide. Let me tell you it was a great choice because the bike rides great. You do not realize that this is a big bike, it weighs 829 pounds, handles corners very well and has a punch in its engine which is a 92 cubic inch 1500 cc v-twin engine. The Bike comes all chromed and with a Harmon/Kardon Stereo which you can hear clearly at speeds over 100 km/h. The Stereo also has a CD player and a AUX jack so you can hear your ipod while your riding. It also comes with ABS and Cruise Control. The bike has a 6 gallon fuel tank. It will give you about 200 kilometers till you need to fill it up. The tourning models in Harley Davidson are the only models that come with electronic controls instead of the traditional cable. They also have a heat cut off; when you stop you put the accelerator to the front and it will cut off the spark for the cylinders and reduce the heat to top of your legs. Overall, this bike is great! It has everything, it’s fast, agile and gives you lots of comfort.  I have had the bike for a week now and it already has 670 km on its meter. The only down side is that Harley Davidson are known for their customization and with this bike you cant customize a lot not as much as other Harley Davidson models. If you are looking for a bike you should seriously consider the Street Glide.

Last weekend we got a call from one of our friends about a new buggy; the UTV 500 and he wanted us to try it out. To be honest, we were skeptical at first about its performance because it is made in china but it turned out to have the same performance as the best Japanese made competitors out there.

Its main comppetitors are the Yamaha Rhino, Polaris Ranger and the Kawasaki Mule. We tried it out at the abandoned military base in Bnaider because of its steep hills and rough terrain. The UTV 500 Performed beyond our expectations knowing that it is made in china, to tell the truth I would consider buying the UTV 500 because of:

  • Attractive price; it is going for KD2,300 comparing it to its rivals which are all priced at more than KD3,500.
  • Maintenance and spare parts; the maintenance is convenient because they have a mechanic (who is located in Bnaider) who can come to your site and fix or service it on the spot by a simple phone call (believe me this will save your time, effort and money).
  • Performance; as i already mentioned the performance is great and I tried towing a 21 foot sports boat and it does it easily.
  • Accessories; the cargo bed has a special feat. where it can be hydraulically raised and lowered by a press of a button, something it has that the competitors don’t. Also, it has a 1.5 ton built in winch which is optional on its rivals, and it comes in a variety color’s.

After finishing our Test drive we were amazed not to have any bad points about the UTV 500 because it performed beyond our expectations (knowing it is chinese), but after taking a closer look at it we had to comment on one bad point which is the quality of the gauges and the rest of the buttons which are visible on the dashboard; it does not come into comparison with its rival’s finishing where the gauges and buttons quality are better.
