We would first like to first thank Omar from Diwaniya Labs for providing us with the opportunity to review their recent application, iKout. iKout was recently released in the App Store.  As the name implies, iKout, derived from the word, “Kout Bo Sita” is the most well known card game played in the diwaniya. After reviewing the application we really liked the execution, especially the graphics and sound effects. The voice over is a mix of English words with a Kuwaiti accent and some slang words some people use in the diwanya. This definitely was an added value to the game.  By using the english words, we got the impression that the developer is looking forward to expand this game to the whole world. We salute him for this move.

The Good:

- Nice Graphics
-Fun Sound Effects
-Wifi Support for Multiplayers (although we have not tested it yet)
-Score History
-Works with the iPad, iPhone & iPod Touch.

The Bad:

- Distribution of cards is a bit slow, it would be great if there was a skip button which distributes all of the cards immediately
- Inability to play with other users online.

i just got my hands on the ipad and this is my personal review about it :

1. I find the size just right to hold and its extremely thin, weight is a bit heavier than i thought but its not a problem at all.
2. clarity is amazing for game, books and movies.
3. battery life is great , so you dont have to worry about much when you travel.
4. sound is loud and clear.
i really recommend you getting one of these little toys its one of the prettiest gadgets around and if you do get one make sure you download angry birds it kicks ass on the ipad :)

We unfortunately had a shortage of drivers and lots of lazy lads in the 4thring Diwaniya …. somehow we all had a craving for some Johnny Rockets burgers, rocket wings, and some good old fashioned chili cheese fries on the side and no one wanted to go and pick us up some food from our buddy Johnny so a genius in the Diwaniya came up with the bright idea of calling Mr. Delivery a new service where a delivery car picks up anything from anywhere and delivers it to you… to make a long story short the service was pretty good, they were fast,with no complications, they pick up the tab and bring it to you and most importantly we got our food hot & fresh … the service cost KWD 2, so when your out of options and craving some munchies or  want something from anywhere give’m a call: 22494944

Life with Cacao just invited us before their opening which is around a week or two. It is located in 360 at “the gardens” next to B+F Open Flame. Life with Cacao is 100% Kuwaiti with a French chef. Everything is house made except for the chocolate which is ordered from Switzerland. unlike other places where they add some additives. They are also very flexible with the orders where you can add, remove or even mix in some dishes.

We have mentioned in an earlier post that our friends in Zain’s Marketing Department provided us with their latest product, Zain MiFi. It is basically a wireless router, slightly larger than a credit card weighing only 81 grams. It allows up to 5 users to connect via a wireless network and surf the internet in reasonable surfing speeds.

In a sense,  it is another ego device but what is special about it is the mobile wireless option. Imagine, you are in the chalet or camping site with your friends and family wanting a relatively high-speed internet access.

One of my friend had a chance to see the Michael Jackson movie yesterday, he was thrilled and speechless to see such effects and choreography of a concert. This is it,…. the documentary movie of Michael Jackson’s tour set a box office record for an October Tuesday, grossing $2.2 million. The movie playing in more than 3500 theaters in the US and thousands more in 97 countries. The documentary shows the footage that was recorded of Michael Jackson weeks before his death in June. He mentioned that the layout and effects of the concert was beyond amazing and never seen before. Also for the artist himself Michael Jackson is one of the most talented and perfectionist people he has ever seen. He gives it a thumps up and recommends people to go see it just because its different and shows what talented people do fore living.

I have just finished reading Dan Brown’s latest novel and I must say that sadly, I was not that impressed with it. Was it because I waited a few years for this novel and held unrealistic hopes? I don’t know. I must admit though that the story was entertaining and was thoroughly researched, but it was certainly not as exciting as Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code.

True to his form, Dan Brown employed some drastic plot twists but to me they were either hard to believe or added very little to the story line. While reading Th Lost Symbol, the buildup to the final climatic scene was immense but sadly Dan Brown failed to deliver. In a sense, the novel started with a bang but ended with a whimper.

Even with all of the novel’s misgivings, I still recommend it. It is not that this novel is bad, it is just that I keep comparing it to Dan Brown’s works of art, Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code.

last week i ordered my iphone 3gs from kwtmall.com and yes with the 5kd discount ;Pp called the guy and asked about the procedure and all… which is simple… you send a message to him with your name what you wanted which for me was iphone 3gs white 16gb then your address… thats pretty much it.. i sent the msg thursday night and he didnt have in stock at the time so what he did was he orders i think in a weekly basis and puts your name in the list,, he told me it will arrive on tuesday give or take a day depending on our lovable customs.. and from time to time he msgs you with an update and so on… something i wish aramex does… when it arrived he msged me saying its in q8 but customs are being well them selves lazim ey’akhroon kilshay for the purpose of nothing.. so i got a msg on wednesday as promised (give a day for customs if they bug in) saying that if i wanted his delivery guy to come to my home at what time or any other place which is pretty cool.. 15 min later the delivery guy is at my door step with a small bag.. hes like sign here, give him the money, tells you thank you and off he goes… 5-10 min later, i got a msg ybarikly and thanking me for ordering… well first i loved how he kept me updated all the time 2 thumbs up… kept his word which u will never find in any shipping place… asking me when and where i want my order to be delivered when it arrives and paying when u get your merchandise and not paying upfront… yea i called him a couple of times asking things and so on you know being all malgoof (A) and he was like just a pointer before ordering (which i like..) the charger wont fit in our normal plugs, extensions, adapters ur pick,,, cuz theyr not designed for q8.. they are not two pins they r like 2 slanted bars shaping  like this… /  \… hes like u can buy min il jam3ya an adapter or go to digits oo buy the sha7in… so im like its ok its not like this is my first thing i order from the internet… i have my way around it… and price wise tara its really good… check out in the internet,, the price of the phone and shipping will some out to be nearly the same which is really close.. barely a margin of profit for him… you can do the calculations for your self to know.. bought it at 275kd  oo its 260kd in italy (if your there) oh his are from australia.. all in all i loved his service will order from him again and you should give him a try…
