After visiting the Soccer Scene Store at the Avenues Mall, I’ve realized that there are numerous new collection of jersey’s from the English, Italian, Spanish , French, and Portuguese League.

I’ve been whining about how in Kuwait we are trailing behind in motor sports. And that we have the best talent in the middle east in this field. But no recourses to exploit this talent. Well now our big break is here!

There is an excellent karting track on the sixth ring road. I’ve been there four times in Ramadan checking the progress, and it seems they are making good progress on the track and the track only. The rest of the place is pretty bad. Its literally a good track with no utilities pits or kart storage compartments. The tires outlining the track are old used tires that are poorly painted white and lighting is what you would find in a football field in an old farm in Abdily.

On the other hand the track itself is excellent. I walked around the track several times and I was impressed more and more every track walk i did. Its 1400 meters long, 8 meters wide and about 10 meters wide in the hairpins. Its techinical, has a combination of hairpins, low speed corners, S turns two straits and some nice high speed corners.

Kart racing is the building block of all that is motor sports and people could start racing from 5 years of age and keep on racing karts until there bodies physically cant take it. Most motoring legends started there careers karting and keep on karting event when they reach the highest levels of motor sports like F1. I’m looking forward to the opening of this track and I’m going to be the first one there the day it opens. It will open the second day of eid. Hopefully some young kuwaiti talents will start rising in the near future.

A Swedish man gets fined $ 1 million for speeding in Switzerland! The man was driving at a speed of about 300 km per hour … here’s the low down:

“The latest case in point is a 37-year-old Swedish man who was clocked at 180 miles per hour on a motorway between Bern and Lausanne in Switzerland. the driver faces a penalty of just over $1 million for traveling at the highest speed ever recorded on a public road in Switzerland. Apparently the SLS escaped being clocked by several older cameras that are limited to 125 mph before finally being recorded by a new camera with a higher radar speed range. His excuse: The speedometer was faulty.”
