Billing & Shipping address problem solved
By Abdulmohsen
Have you ever fancied ordering directly from US based websites that require the same shipping and billing address?
After reading the comments from this post found in Abdullah’s blog I found the answer!
Some of you might not know this but the answer is to simply have an American Express card! I called them and they confirmed that if you have a shipping address in the US (Aramex or Ushopweship) then just give it to them and they will change the billing address for you!
That is it, no more expensive mail forwarding services such as MyUs or JustAsk.
If you are interested in obtaining an American Express card you can access their site and apply or just call Waseem at 66063048.
Note: I still haven’t tried it myself but when I do I will update you on it.

My NBK’s visa card billing address is my Aramex address in the States. I did that by going to my branch and requesting a change of address.
The problem is some sites not only need a US billing address but an actual credit card that is US based.

Isn’t Amex a US based card?

its an american company but the card isn’t issued in the States. I am not sure but I believe its issued in Bahrain.

US based = US issued

Can u explain that exactly.. so you mean Amex from Kuwait.. not the US..
That isn’t that much of a problem..
the problem is sites that require you to have billing address or delivery address which isn’t a POBOX which is what they consider that an unusable address!

Guys let me explain this to you.
The American Express card that you’ll get from here is printed in Bahrain. But based in the states.
what you can do to avoid such madness, ask them to hand you an american express printed in the states not bahrain (nothing wrong with the bahrini print) but just for you to relax.
regarding the address changing method, you can change the card address through your bank just like mark said, yet some sites require the card number which basically states from where it got printed.
i.e: cards starting with 4644 – 5200 kuwaiti print. result ? not compatible and the system didnt even need to check it through the visa/mastercard network.
Tell me if you need any more info ;)

Mark what you said is right because i had an amex from their branch in salhiya a year ago i changed the address to the aramex address in the us “was tying to be smarter” but unfortunately they always tell me that you amex not issued in the us. :(

HI guys… now that your talking about credit cards just FYI if you have an american express card issued from the states or europe and you try to go into the business lounge at kuwait airport, they will tell you that you can’t go in because your card has to be issued from the middle east…!!! try to explain that ????? ONLY IN KUWAIT

Mark: It is confirmed that the AMEX cards are issued from the UK. Dunno if this helps.
Bufaisal: hmmm… Interesting, at least nobody stays in the Kuwaiti lounge for long! It is a disgrace! :)

Bufaisal, thats strange.
regardless, i think some cards have an extra “priority pass” card with them. you could use it to enter kuwait’s lounge or any other lounge in the world.
Aside from that, they might just be ignorant and dont know the right procedure (most likely) :P
