The marketing team at Zain Telecom, and to be precise Mr. TKO was kind enough to gift us the newest Zain ego 21.6 mb E-GO and for that we would like to thank him and all the Zain marketing team, now for the review before we start we would like to confirm that yes Zain are our main sponsors and we strictly conveyed to the people there that we are going to write an honest review about this product. Read on!

first off the installation process was a breeze we installed the e-go both on a Mac-book and PC and it was as easy as plug, automatic install, connect and surf…so it really cant get any easier than that.  As for the speed as you might imagine it really is fast and downloads are great however we must say that we couldnt get it to the 21.6 mbps but we’re sure thats because im not in one of the internet “hot spots”  where internet speed is usually higher and getting up to that speed is something quite difficult, however as we were  told places like certain shopping malls and the airport, and some coffee shops you can reach higher speeds as we recall.

One of the main websites that we tend to visit is one other than time burning “You Tube” and so we tried the “You Tube” test where we opened ten movie clips at once, and yes all of them downloaded fully once we opened them right away… so for “You Tube” surfing i give it a two thumbs up!

Moving on to the size, now the Zain e-go is not exactly the smallest usb internet device it certainly isn’t as small as the previous one and not as cool looking however it does look better than the other 21.6 mbps (lets not go there some readers might feel touchy about the subject) so for the looks aspect we give it a not so well….

This is just a quick review, we are going to test it out more and hopefully also test it in the shalaih soon to give you a complete review and more detailed and in depth, we are sure you can expect the Zain e-go 21.6 mbps soon to hit the market because the packaging is ready and is due to come out soon… so as first impressions go… we like it.

    Taymoor

this new device is compatible with the Zain adapter. Just use it with the adapter to turn it into a router.

Oh! This’s nice I thought Zain will not step in this competition :)

    Could you list some numbers?

    Thanks,

I have a question: I already have the very old version of E-Go (the one with the wire) so if I upgrade to this version, do I need to issue a new number or do I simply just buy it and use it? Last time I had to go to the main Zain building for someone to install it on a Mac.

I don’t beleive , I have the 7.0 and not a stable and fast connection as promissed, although i contacted zain several times with no support at all. Ego is bad, and am afraid to buy the W net or the viva and get the same unstability.

Well ever since i reached my download cap on zain 7.2 mbps connection … my speeds have been absolutely sad and pathetic ( the contract states if you download more than 20 GB a month they have right to decrease ur speeds , tho they havent mentioned to what speed they would be decreasing it to, they had brought down my connection speeds to 176 kbps ) … my connection is suppose to have been reinstated in the beginging of Sept .. unfortunately this has made no change to the speeds …. The customer service has been absolutely pathetic … as in one of the chappies even claimed that our contract specifies that zain has all the right to decrease ur speed at any pt of time according to their will … and im like i spend KD 27 every month to have them take me off my service when ever they please …. like hellooo where are my rights … and since im tied up to a contract i cant even get rid of it … as in i need to pay KD 50 to get this leash off of me .. and i dont mind paying the KD 27 if they were to provide me with a consistent worth while connection … but for a service which is absolutely not reliable … i doubt it …. most of my frnds have also had issues … as in initially when u purchase the connection u go thru a wow phase … as in the connnections are ridiculously awesome .. but in time the connections deteriorates…. IS zain reliable … are their future service / products going to be worth it …. hmmm im highly doubtful ….. mE

I have been using E-Go 7.2 for more than 1 & half years. I must say and insist, it`s the worse internet I had since 15 years!!!

my speed never goes up 50KB/S my ping is very very bad and I am an online gamer! I have contacted customer support so many times, and no one seems to know what is ping!!! and no can fix my crappy speed!

maybe they gave you a modified e-go 21mb to test it. but the ones we will get will be slow

why should this new 21MB e-go be better and give better speed than 7.2 or the internet in Afganistan ?
